BEFORE YOU GO
What to sort out
before you fly.
Season, acclimatisation, permits and insurance shape a trek long before the first walking day. Here’s what to think about, and what I’ll confirm for your route.
Season
Spring and autumn usually bring the most settled trekking weather, but it varies by region, altitude and year. Check your dates with me before you book flights.
Acclimatisation
Higher routes need days to adjust, and a shorter itinerary doesn’t remove that need. I build that time in, along with room for the weather.
Permits
Permits depend on the route. Manaslu and Kanchenjunga include restricted areas, which need extra arrangements. I’ll confirm what your exact route requires before you book.
Insurance
Travel insurance is your own arrangement. Tell me your route and I’ll explain what it involves, so you can choose cover that matches it.
What your itinerary should include
Daily walking stages, acclimatisation days, transfers, accommodation, porter arrangements, permits, and a clear list of what’s included and what isn’t. We’ll agree all of it before you book.
